New Year Superstitions

New Year’s Eve, just as the first day of the year, are accompanied by certain superstitions which are transmitted from one generation to another. Underlying idea behind most of these superstitions is that events occurring on New Year’s Day set the pattern for the rest of the year.
What is good to do on New Year’s Eve?

Make a wish
If you make a wish in New Year’s Eve, then it is likely to become true.

Wear new clothes
This would mean receiving more new garments during the year. Red clothing is preferred for New Year's Day since red is considered a happy color and is sure to attract for the wearer a brighter future.

Make noise
People believe that Evil One and his attendants and servants hate loud noise. So, scare them away by being as loud in New Year celebrations as possible. Church bells are rung at midnight for the same reason.

Don’t keep debts
Pay your bills and loans before New Year Eve, so you don't have any debt left for New Year. Moreover, don’t lend money on New Year’s Eve.

Have money in your pocket
On New Year’s Eve is good to have money in your pocket or to keep money in your hand. And the wineglass must be always full.

Avoid being alone
Try do not be alone on New Year’s Eve, because you’ll be alone all year. Be with your family or friends, but never alone.

Letting the Old Year out
At midnight, all the doors of a house must be opened to let the old year escape unimpeded.

First footing
First person, who will pass on the first day your doorstep, will influence you all year. If it’s a woman, then the New Year will not be very good. The brunettes bring luck and happiness, but the blondes and redheads bring bad luck.

What is a Flash Mob?

Today, I want to talk about something very beautiful, very artistic and entertaining, which is the Flash Mob. Not so many people know what a flash mob is, but it’s good to know, in case you’ll see it by chance in one dayJ.

Flash Mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place; participants performing some unusual action for a short period of time (usually few minutes) and after that, the group spreads. The idea was transposed to reality in 2003 in America, and it wasn’t for a political, economic, religious purpose, which shows that flash mob cannot be used for profit. Flash mobs are organized via telecommunications, e-mails, and social media.

Here is a sample of a Christmas flash mob, organized in the airport with elves, carolers, snowmen, sugar plum fairies and Santa Claus, himself, to make that moment a memorable evening.

The most important rules of the flash mob:

·        Action must be spontaneous and simultaneous. It is forbidden to draw the attention of the participants before the action.
·        Should form the impression that the participants do not know each other and before the action, they should not show that they are preparing to do something unusual.
·        All actions should be performed after a scenario.
·        After the flash mob shouldn’t remain traces.
·        All the actions must be carried out with all seriousness.
·        After finishing, all the participants must immediately leave the place without showing that something special happened.
·        Flash mob must be outside of media.
·        To avoid conflicts with members of law and security, all the participants must have identity documents.
·        The scenario have to be absurd, mysterious, not very visible and in any case not to cause laughter.

The purpose of the flash mob:

The participants of a flash mob not offer or receive money for participation. This occupation is voluntary. The participants can follow the same action for different purposes, like:
·        Fun.
·        To feel independent.
·        To impress others.
·        To test their skills in performing spontaneous actions in public places.
·        Attempt to get new sensations.
·        Feeling of belonging to a common action.
·        New sensations emotional.
·        To find new friends.

Some psychologists explain this by the fact that these people are bored of rational life. That’s why they seek to participate in something special that will bring new sensations in their lives.
I chose some awesome and interesting samples of a flash mob, organized in different countries. Leave some comments if you like them or what you think about them. And by the way, have you ever participated in a flash mob?

Gus Takkale-author and professional speaker from Canada

Few months ago, I met Gus Takkale in Dubai, through one friend of mine and we had a coffee together and a very nice chat. . He came to Dubai to promote his second book ‘’the road: a journey through the 5 C’s of change’’. It was a pleasure for me to meet such an interesting man and also to get a copy of his book with an autograph.

But, let me tell you more about him. Gus Takkale is the author of two books: ‘’The 5 C’s in Change’’ and ‘’ The Road: A Journey through the 5 C’s of Change’’ and a professional speaker. He was born in the UAE, but grew up in Canada.

During our conversation with Gus, I dared to ask him what is his biggest dream, and his response was prompt and short-‘’to change the world!’’. I smiled and I thought inside me-‘’he is crazy or he’s joking!’’ Then he started telling me that he wrote the books ‘’The 5 C’s in Change’’ and ‘’ The Road: A Journey through the 5 C’s of Change’’ with the same purpose-to change the world! He was very serious about it and determinate to do that.

He is the president of Gus Takkale International (GTI), an organization that builds programs that empower people and position them for successful change. He travels the world to guide people on this journey of transformation and success.
Gus is on a mission to change the world and he is doing that one person at a time.
‘’To change the world, we need to start by changing ourselves.’’  (Gus Takkale)

I read this book expecting that I’ll learn and discover something great, something to help me to change my life. But the most important, I wanted to understand what those 5 C’s are and what was the meaning of  Gus’s autograph for me inside the book-‘’Cristina, live with PHP!’’
So, finally after reading the book, I found out that PHP means: Purpose, Hunger and Passion.
‘Where there is a Purpose, there is direction.’
‘When there is Hunger, there is achievement.’
‘When there is Passion, there is inspiration.’
                                               (Gus Takkale)
The success on the road of your life will depend on your ability to change your character, then to become constructive, and then you need a full commitment, the ability to communicate and at the end is about contributing to yourself and to the world.

Before starting this journey, you need to adopt TRM (Take Responsibility Mindset) and then pack your bag with the necessary tools for the road:
Tool 1: Aim High
Tool 2: Believe
Tool 3: PHP
Tool 4: Elimination of the E-word (excuses)
And now, enjoy the journey and have fun!
